Today is Thursday. Many of the Israelis are taking their
math bagrut test today, so they did not join us at the volunteer center this
morning. The people who were there boarded a bus and drove to Nativ Haasara, a
city on the border with Gaza. We went to a woman’s house who started a project
called “Path to Peace”. She told us about her life living next to Gaza. Her
program decorates one of the inside border walls in order to give hope to the
people living in her community. We visited the wall and each added a tile to
decorate it. Then we had lunch at the volunteer center. Then a motivational
speaker came and inspired us to be our bests. We all went to our respective
homes to rest for a couple of hours before closing ceremonies at one of the
fellows’ homes. Seeing the border wall was inspiring and seeing Gaza made us
grateful for what we have.
