Day 3- we are in Israel!!!

We started off day three after a much needed night of sleep, although we wouldn’t have minded sleeping a couple extra hours. Despite our continued jetlag, everyone was in a significantly improved mood and ready to begin another action packed day. Beginning with tours of Kabbalistic Tzfat’s intricately decorated synagogues, we continued onto the eclectic shops of the city’s small but colorful market. A few purchases and scenic pictures later, we were back on the move and headed to a much anticipated afternoon of rafting the Jordan River. Groups of four to six of us commanded our own boats, but we ultimately ended up swimming and goofing off, pushing each other in and losing a pair of sunglasses along the way. Dried off and hungry, we traveled to our first big city, Tiberius. After a few free hours and dinner on the Tiberius Promenade (what seemed like Israel’s take on the boardwalk), we ended the day with a “Night Circle” and enjoyed a quiet bus ride back to the kibbutz.
