Shabbat in Jerusalem!

Hey Diller Baltimore 2011 Friends and Family! Its Megan here, typing from Jerusalem. It is early Sunday morning and the teens are just now waking up from an amazing and special Shabbat in Jerusalem. They are all so excited to be meeting up with their Israeli matches later this morning. Once meeting up with them, we will be visiting Mt. Herzl together and then leaving Jerusalem for the Dead Sea and Masada!!

Here is a summary from Rachel Safferman about our Shabbat experience:
Today is July 16 and we are having an amazing time here! It’s a surreal experience and we are all thoroughly enjoying ourselves. Today Pauline, our tour guide led us on a guided tour of the Old City which finished at the Kotel. The Kotel is a truly awesome place to be. To be surrounded by so many Jews from so many different walks of life is quite moving in itself. We were also treated to a special surprise when Danielle’s grandparetns opended their home to us! They served delicious watermelon and sorbet and we enjoyed a magnificent view from their porch. Because today was Shabbat, we enjoyed a fair amount of down time, a rarity, which we spent sleeping, cleaning and hanging out! Its hard to believe that it has already been a week and we will be seeing the Israelis tomorrow. Its going to be so much fun and although somewhat apprehensive, we are all looking forward to all the great experiences to come!
